Robilant+Voena is a partnership of art dealers Edmondo di Robilant and Marco Voena. They launched R+V in London in 2004. Further gallery spaces were opened in Milan in 2009, St. Moritz in 2013, and Paris and New York in 2020. R+V has distinguished itself as one of the leading international art dealers in Old Master paintings, as well as twentieth-century Italian art. In recent years, these dual specialisms have been complemented by a carefully curated programme of contemporary projects, working with artists whose practices build upon the artistic inheritance of the past.
Working across Old Masters, Modern and Contemporary, the gallery strives to create dynamic, thought-provoking exhibitions that juxtapose the old and the new, creating unexpected links between artists working across the centuries and drawing out eternal themes through art.
Robilant+Voena has sold works to significant collections and museums including the Brooklyn Museum of Art, New York; the Frick Collection, New York; the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York; the J. Paul Getty Museum, Los Angeles; the National Gallery, London; the Musée d'Orsay, Paris; the Gallerie dell'Accademia, Venice; the Pinacoteca di Brera, Milan; the National Gallery of Stockholm; the Louvre Abu Dhabi; and the Museum of Western Art, Tokyo. Robilant+Voena participates annually at the most prestigious art fairs internationally, and is committed to an active exhibitions programme and the publication of books and scholarly catalogues.
Marco Voena completed his higher education in Turin and opened his first gallery there in 1989 with an exhibition of Italian Baroque painting, accompanied by a scholarly publication. In 1992, he established himself as a leading specialist of Caravaggio and the Caravaggesque, confirming a lost painting to the Italian master. He subsequently moved his gallery to Milan in 1994, before launching Robilant+Voena with Edmondo di Robilant in 2004. In addition to his activities spearheading contemporary projects, Voena directs Robilant+Voena's international curatorial and publishing programme, often in conjunction with renowned figures in their fields.
Edmondo di Robilant has over 45 years of experience as an art dealer. He began his career at P&D Colnaghi in 1980, where he worked for 10 years, five of which he was a Director. Di Robilant established the Dover Street Gallery in 1989, before founding Robilant+Voena. Over the years, he has helped build eminent private collections in the fields of Old Masters, Nineteenth Century and Modern Art, becoming widely recognised as one of the most important dealers in artworks from these periods.
