Description
These petite, finely detailed artworks depict the lizard commonly known as the Union Island gecko. The dramatic markings on the lizard's skin is here evoked by intricately placed gemstones, including diamonds, sapphires and opals. The curve of their tails suggest the lithe and nimble movement of these reptiles.

Harumi's careful selection of the precious stones and metals for these pieces refocuses attention on the extraordinary artistry of nature, fusing two dazzling creations of the natural world - the lizards themselves and the gemstones - to give birth to an artwork that is more beautiful any one of its individual parts.
