    Lecco 1937 - 2017 Lecco

The Italian painter and sculptor Tino Stefanoni applied a conceptual approach to quotidian subjects. Born in Lecco, he studied art in his native town and architecture in Milan. His debut solo exhibition was held at the Galleria Apollinaire in Milan in 1968, and for the next five decades his works were included in many exhibitions across Italy, including the Quadriennale in Rome and the Venice Biennale. Stefanoni presents everyday objects and landscapes with a disarmingly frank obviousness, inviting viewers to consider the relationship between the elementariness of signs and the mystery of things signified.
