Art Fair: Frieze Seoul

  • Art Fair: Frieze Seoul

    2 - 5 September 2022

Robilant+Voena is delighted to be participating in the inaugural edition of FRIEZE Seoul, which takes place 2 - 5 September 2022. We are showcasing a selection of Gothic, early Renaissance, and Venetian paintings alongside groundbreaking modern and contemporary sculpture and paintings.

Gold-ground paintings by Sano di Pietro and Giovanni di Francesco Toscani depict the life of Christ and saints in harmonious compositions. These works enhance the luminous cityscapes by Michele Marieschi and Francesco Guardi of the Venetian School, who rendered the city’s iconic architecture and vibrant daily life with dazzling effect.

An intimate, domestic scene by Pierre Bonnard depicts two young women sitting with their dog in a salon, while Marc Chagall’s parade enchants with his quintessential dream-like style. Pablo Picasso’s mighty self portrait looks to his romantic, early drawing of muse Sara Murphy. A groundbreaking abstract sculpture by modernist Constantin Brâncuşi echoes the physicality of shapes found in Lucio Fontana’s slashed paintings. The distinctly muted tones of Giorgio Morandi’s signature glasses and bottles contrast as Damien Hirst’s butterflies and dots visually unify our multi-category presentation.
