A recently rediscovered painting by Artemisia Gentileschi (1593 – after 1654), 'The Penitent Magdalene', c. 1625-30, is examined in detail in this video, uncovering the painting's context and compositional significance, as well as exploring what it tells us about Artemisia's prolific creativity in the late 1620s.
