NAPOLEON AND ANTIQUITY

Napoleon was a leader who looked to history for figureheads and emperors on which to model his own primacy. He understood the power of art to promote a vision of himself as a strong, reliable and almost mythical leader. This video examines the ways in which Napoleon learnt from Antiquity to construct his image of power and authority.
